Information about Argor-Heraeus SA

Founded in 1951 under the name Argor SA, it is one of the oldest Swiss refineries. In 1973, Argor SA was acquired by one of the leading Swiss banks, UBS, which expanded its presence in the precious metals market. In 1986, Heraeus, a German technology group specializing in precious metals, acquired a stake in Argor, leading to the formation of Argor-Heraeus. In 2017, Heraeus fully acquired Argor-Heraeus, making it the world's largest provider of precious metal services. In 2022, Argor-Heraeus fully acquired Erbas SA, a historic Swiss company active in the watchmaking and jewelry sectors. This acquisition aims to strengthen Argor-Heraeus's position as a leading supplier in the luxury watchmaking and jewelry industries.

Today, Argor-Heraeus operates eleven production and four trading sites worldwide, offering services such as refining, minting, recycling, trading, and banking of precious metals. The refined gold and silver products of Argor-Heraeus are accredited by LBMA Good Delivery, while its platinum and palladium products are accredited by LPPM Good Delivery. The refinery has an annual refining capacity of approximately 400 tons.
